I may be a little late.

So I'm a little late, but this morning sickness has been killing me. On Saturday morning, my oldest and closest friend, Terra left Marquette to transfer schools to Full Sail University in Florida. I'm really happy for her, she's going to be great. But it's hard having her leave. Now for some pictures of her last days here and some Lilian cuteness.

And last but certainly not least, Lilian watches a you tube video about puppies so mom can hang her laundry on the line.

I love my doctor!

So I met with my prenatal doctor today. I went to OBGYN Associates with Lilian and it wasn't that I disliked them entirely, it was just that I never really felt appreciated with such a large practice. With so many doctors I was always worried I would dislike the doctor who delivered Lilian and just wanted to be more confident I would be happy with my doctor.

So I am going to Dr. Hatfeild for this pregnancy and she was WONDERFUL. I really felt like she cared about what I had to say, didn't judge me and wanted to answer all my questions. She was open to talking about birth plans at some point later on and trusted me!

I loved the whole exirience even though for some reason there was a long wait today. I go again next month and want to bring Lilian because we get to hear the heartbeat next time!

It's finally warming up!

No more unnesscary soaking my diapers or dipping them in the toilet because that sprayer is HIGH POWERED and it really takes care of the mess!!

Children's Museum

Yesterday was a fun time! Lilian, Tu and I (sally) went to the UP Child's Museum for an Easter event they were hosting. We met Sarah and her kids there and had lots of fun. Also there was Emma and Julia, Robbie's daughters.

First we showed Tu around the museum and all the exhibits. It was convenient that we got to the museum a bit early because none of the Easter themed activities had started yet so it wasn't very crowded yet. After showing Tu around, we went to an area where a violinist was performing and encouraging little ones to dance. Lilian was a little tired but still enjoyed getting to dance!

The we went searching for Easter eggs, but we did take a few pit stops to get free ice cream, crackers and carrot juice! The eggs seemed easy enough to find for the kids running around, but it took us awhile to find any! Once we finally did find some (in a place we'd already looked no less, they must have put some back in there)! However Lilian was a little disappointed I think when we saw the prizes with the eggs. They were just some odd sort of plastic with a funny face. Honestly we don't know what they were!

When Lilian finally got to see the Easter Bunny, it really scared her instead of excited her! I don't think we will make her go see him ever again!

Alright, bye for now!

I think it's time for pictures of Lilian

We don't need a reason to post cute pictures of Lilian!

Lilian was very tired here. She had refused to nap this day and by dinner time was crashing hard!

Here is Lilian doing some yoga moves. Downward facing dog seems to be her favorite!

Hope you enjoyed the cuteness!

Cloth Diapering in the Modern World

In many ways, I have been cloth diapering in the dark ages. Sure, I use fancy pocket diapers like this green Bum Genius on the right here, but I usually save them for night time and when we are out and about. When it comes to diapering at home, we usually use the old fashion pre-folds with pins.

Using pins never bothered me, and people are always asking me if I poke Lilian. To be honest, I've never poked her, but I have poked myself! I never had a problem with diaper pins, until now. Recently they have gotten so dull I can barely get them through the fabric. I asked Kyle to sharpen them, but it just didn't do the trick. So I finally gave in and stepped into the cloth diapering light.

Today I went online and bought two new age cloth diapering items, the first being "snappi's." These plastic diaper fasteners are made to hold your baby's diaper on securly and they come in adorable colors! I cannot wait to try them on Lilian. They have gotten great reveiws and hopefully they work well!

The other thing I bought today I have been saying I would get for ages. So I finally gave in and did it! The "Bum genious Diaper Sprayer" connects to your toilet and hangs beside it. It allows you to spray off messy poo's into the toilet instead of having to swish it around in the toilet. I have been getting so sick of taking care of Lilian's icky poo I had to give in today. I really hope it works! I had it priority shipped here so that I can use it as soon as possible!!

Well alright everyone, I've got to get going! Love you all, hope the weather starts to get warm, if I could have I would have bought us all some sunshine!

Great Weekend, so far...

It's been a pretty eventful weekend so far! Friday Kyle's Uncle Christopher dropped off Tu, a Vietnamese exchange student staying with him, at our house. She will be staying till Easter while they are in Florida. Unfortunately Lilian and Kyle have been sick while she's been here but we've still managed to have some fun.

Friday night, Lilian, Tu and I went to Hudson's restaurant to have a going away dinner for my oldest friend Terra and both our families were there. Kyle could not go because he was still feeling to sick. We got a lot of good food there and had a great time.

Saturday, Tu and I started cooking early because we planned to make Vietnamese food for dinner. We started by preparing the stuffing for the nem or egg rolls and charring and boiling down ginger and onions for the pho, which is a beef noodle soup. Then Terra came over followed by Karl, a friend of mine who has stayed in Vietnam for about a year and wanted to meet Tu. We had a great time and the food turned out GREAT!

Tu and Karl making food.

Unfortunately we forgot to take pictures of the food itself, but both Karl and Tu thought it was very close to the real things and we all did a pretty good job for getting the ingredients we could find here in town! Lilian was a bit crabby during the whole process, but at the end of everything she enjoyed eating and wearing her noodles.

Let's hope this warm weather comes our way soon...this frigid weather is getting old!
